Physical energy is obvious such as in the natural processes in our bodies that occur when we breathe in new air to circulate our blood and beat our hearts, or when we eat food that provides nutrition to give us the strength to move.
Just like physical energy, we need ample spiritual energy to operate at our peak potential. Spiritual energy is powered by many components. Think of them like vitamins. Much like each vitamin serves unique needs for our physical health, “spiritual vitamins” provide essential nutrients for us to thrive and grow.
As with physical vitamins, spiritual vitamins are always available and should be part of a daily regimen. In this report, I’ll share five spiritual vitamins that when taken together will infuse your day with magic and meaning — just like Daily Possible is here to do.
Have courage. It is already inside of you.
“Every child is an artist. The problem is staying an artist when you grow up.” – Pablo Picasso
We are born with courage so we can fully engage with life through our unique gifts and talents. Everything in life requires some amount of courage, not just for the bold and dramatic. It takes courage every day to excel in our careers and enjoy healthy personal relationships. When we are in pain or face a challenge, it can feel as if we are drained of courage; just getting out of bed in the morning can be too much to bear.
Fear and worry are the ego’s defense mechanisms designed to block us from completing courageous tasks. So break tough actions into smaller easily digestible ones that can be accomplished with less intense doses. Chances are once you succeed, you will build up a higher tolerance for difficult situations, so your natural ability to demonstrate courage on your own will rise as well.
Give love. Your heart expands with love.
“Deep within me I want to be more loving — to glow with a warmth that will take the chill off the room which I share with those whose lives touch mine in the traffic of my goings and comings.” – Howard Thurman
As I mentioned earlier the natural process that makes your heart beat is innate for your livelihood and it occurs without giving it any thought. That’s why love is symbolized by the heart. You need the power of love whether conscious of it or not. Just as cardio exercise helps the physical health of your heart, getting your daily love quotient improves your spiritual health.
Love comes in many forms but always involves unconditional giving. It may take the shape of offering someone support or encouragement. It can be as quick as giving an unexpected hug or compliment, or being generous with your time such as when you provide a listening ear. Sometimes the best expressions of love are when you create something with love: a piece of art, a home-cooked meal. Forgiveness is an alternate form of love, and can be just as, if not more, effective.
Spread joy. Your happiness is made real.
“True happiness comes from the joy of deeds well done, the zest of creating things new.” – Antoine de Saint-Exupery
En-joy-ment: It means you are living, moving and fully experiencing joy right where you are in the present moment. Who doesn’t want more of this tasty spiritual goodness?
While it is possible to feel joy on your own, such as through treating yourself to a fun gift or experience, the spiritual energy from joy increases the farther and wider it goes. So carry yourself in a mindset of joy as much as possible wherever you are. Practice the habit to smile and laugh easily and often. Be open and available to new people and experiences. When you spread joy everywhere you go, your radiant mojo lifts the spirits of everyone.
Share abundance. Your wealth is creation.
“Anything can happen, and be assured there will be an abundance.” – Joel S. Goldsmith
True abundance is not a measurement of your bank balance or how much stuff you own. It is a continuous. energetic flow of the unlimited potential that exists by virtue of living in an ever-expanding universe.
Creation is eternal. You exist in creation, simply by being born with a unique purpose for being. You participate in creation when you share of yourself, your gifts and your talents. So don’t hold anything back. Live with high intent and resolve. The universe will return the favor with greater abundance than you can conceive.
Be thankful. For everything you have and all that you are.
“The moment one gives close attention to anything, even a blade of grass, it becomes a mysterious, awesome, indescribably magnificent world in itself.” – Henry Miller
So now you’ve gotten up the courage to get out of bed. You gave some love to everyone you met today and spread joy by laughing at their jokes and you told some funny ones of your own. You shared of yourself by letting your brilliance shine. You know what? You just had an amazing day. So give thanks for it. And even if the day fell short in some way, you’ll get another shot tomorrow so give a shout out for second chances.
The gratitude vitamin is good to take when you feel as if you’re running low on your ability to keep life in perspective. Get quiet. Breathe. Pray. Meditate. Find one thing you can be thankful for. And don’t forget to thank all the fine folks who gave you some of their courage, love, joy and abundance today. Give thanks when you start your day and when you go to bed at night. It will work wonders.
